Pricing guide
What a website actually costs in India
Most quotes for a business website in India land somewhere between ₹5,000 and ₹30,000, and the spread confuses everyone. Below are the real ranges, what you pay each year afterwards, and the six things that decide where your quote falls. These are my own starting prices, not industry averages.
Price ranges
What each kind of website costs
One-time build cost. Final pricing depends on your content, features and complexity.
| Type of website | Typical cost | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| One-page site or landing page | ₹5,000 – ₹8,000 | A single page with your offer, photos, contact form and WhatsApp button. Good for a new business or an ad campaign. |
| Small business website (up to 5 pages) | ₹8,000 – ₹12,000 | Home, about, services, gallery and contact — with Google Maps, a form and basic SEO so you can be found. |
| Complete business website (8–10 pages) | ₹12,000 – ₹20,000 | Custom design, more sections, menus or treatment pages, galleries and local SEO. What most restaurants, cafés, clinics and gyms end up needing. |
| Website with custom features | ₹20,000 upwards | Bookings, orders, logins, an admin area to edit content yourself, or anything that stores and shows data. |
Running costs
What you pay every year after that
The build is one-time. These are the small recurring costs nobody mentions upfront.
Domain name (yourbusiness.com)
₹800 – ₹1,500 per year
Paid to a registrar, in your own name. Prices vary by extension — .com and .in are the usual choices.
Hosting
₹0 – ₹3,000 per year
Small business sites often run on free or very cheap hosting. Heavier sites with lots of traffic cost more.
Changes later
Depends on the change
Small text and photo updates are quick. A new section or feature is quoted separately.
What moves the price
Six things that decide your quote
How many pages
Each page needs its own layout, copy and photos. Five pages is very different work from fifteen.
Template or custom design
A template is cheaper and looks like a template. A custom design is built around your brand, photos and audience.
Features that do something
A contact form is simple. Table bookings, appointment slots, online orders or a login area are real software and cost more.
Who writes the content
If you supply text, menus and photos, the project is faster and cheaper. If it has to be written and shot from scratch, add to the budget.
SEO work
Basic setup — titles, descriptions, sitemap, Google listing — is usually included. Ongoing content to rank for competitive searches is separate work.
Speed of delivery
A normal timeline is around 7 days for a small business site. A rush job costs more because it displaces other work.
Common questions
Straight answers on price
How much does a website cost for a small business in India?
For most small businesses, ₹8,000 to ₹20,000 covers a complete, mobile-friendly website with the pages, forms, gallery and Google Maps you actually need. Below that you are usually buying a one-page site; above it you are paying for custom features.
Is a cheap ₹2,000 website worth it?
Usually not. Those are almost always a stock template with your logo dropped in, no proper mobile layout and no SEO setup. It looks like a shortcut to customers, which is the opposite of why you built a website.
Are there monthly charges?
There is no compulsory monthly fee for the kind of sites I build. You pay for your domain each year and, depending on the site, a small hosting cost. Anything else is only if you ask for ongoing changes or content work.
Do I own the website?
Yes. The domain is registered in your name and the site is yours. You are not locked into a monthly plan to keep it online.
